John DeSalva graduated with Honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a bachelor of science in business administration.

He has an extensive background in the insurance and financial services industry. The son of a Chartered Life Underwriter, John obtained his life and health insurance licenses at age 18.

After college, John was a brokerage manager for the Paul Revere Insurance Cos. in NY. After 3 years with Paul Revere, John left to become an independent professional. He became a GA with Travelers Life and Annuity in 1991 and has qualified for NLC every year since. Today, John's agency is a leading BGA with many insurance companies for life and long term care insurance, and he runs one of the most productive divisions at TSSI.

John has chaired the Travelers' life, long term care, annuity, and agent benefits advisory committees. He is serving for the third time as chairman of the Travelers Producer Council and the TSSI Advisory Board. John has also served on the GE Capital Assurance BGA Advisory Board for Long Term Care insurance.

John has been an advisor on health insurance reform to Congressman Gary Franks of CT, and to Senator John Warren of VA on long term care legislation. He has been a featured speaker at numerous industry events and on a variety of radio and television programs. John is also a member of MDRT.

John lives in Fairfield County, CT with his wife and 3 children, and has coached youth sports for 11 years, including 7 consecutive years as a Pop Warner tackle football head coach. John is currently president of his local high school's football booster club.
